Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Queen was always the life of the party. Her quick wit and humor kept her out of trouble. A dreamer since she was young, she always found the story and the laughter in every situation no matter what. As a teenager she played basketball and volleyball, sang in the city-wide youth choir, took acting and music classes, acted in community and church-based plays, and even tried her hand at the piano and saxophone.
After Graduating from Hampton University, she moved to Maryland and went on to teach a one credit elective course at the University of Maryland College Park at night while teaching third grade during the day. Though she had abandoned her love for entertainment, it never abandoned her, as her humor and love for the dramatics spilled over into her teaching style. However, it was her time advising students and teaching a "strengths" class at Morgan State University in Baltimore that reignited her flame for entertainment on a larger scale. There she mentored, taught and advised students to pursue their passions with vigor. During her time there she participated in freelance production opportunities with major TV networks, Award shows, produced creative arts events (talents shows, poetry slams, concerts, etc.…), managed independent music artists and wrote TV and movie concepts on the side.
While working at Morgan, Queen met a student who changed her life and ultimately rerouted her dreams back in the right direction. As she watched the development of his reality show "Where is Julian" Queen encouraged him to stay the course. In 2011 he died in a car accident. His death was a wake-up call for Queen forcing her to quit her job and pursue a career in Film. As a result, Queen has written and Directed music and promotional videos, participated in the 48-hour film project in Washington DC and Pittsburgh, PA, and has consulted on several independent music, TV and film projects. Her work is reflective of her journey, as she seeks to tell stories that resonate with a diverse group of people, while staying true to the soul of who she is and what she represents. Recently, Queen wrapped production on her first, self funded short film “Road Rage” a story of love and loss. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Also, she continues traveling state to state filming an original Docu-Series “Artistry Defined” a series dedicated to creatives and providing them the platform to share their Artistry and the purpose behind their work. Queen continues to write and create daily as she works to build her company through original work and collaborative efforts in various industries. She also lends her production expertise to consult, train and develop production teams to produce on the highest level possible. Currently she is in Production on her latest film, a Feature film “Dummy Mission” and in Pre-Production for her next film "Redemption" Queen's goal is to continue to work from a place of purpose and passion while serving through her creative efforts. As a personal and professional motto, Queen believes and lives the idea that "Everything's A Production."
